2011 Year End Soundscan Charts & Top 30 Digital Singles Of 2011

Album sales in the United States for the first time rose for the first time since 2004, up 330.57 million units from 326.15 million units.

There can be only one, and it was clear by halfway through 2011 that the winner would be…Adele.

The British Songstress dominates the US albums and singles charts as her album 21 ends the year selling 5.82 million copies in 2011 , the highest selling album in one year since Usher’s Confessions, while “Rolling In The Deep” sold 5.81 million downloads in 2011.

Adele was the clear cut winner with Michael Buble, who’s album Christmas came strong in the final stretch of 2011, finished the year with 2.45 million. Closing out the top 5 are Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” with 2.1 million, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV with 1.92 million, and Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party came in at #5 with 1.58 million sold.
